GENERAL VIEW:
The kitchen glass backsplash is an explicit pattern characteristic which is found al most in all modern and designer kitchens. You can have anything to choose from marble, ceramic tiles, glass mosaics, marble mosaics, stainless steel, and even you can go for 24 ct. gold plated tiles. Everyone who want to go for something that can be affordable and can match their budget, then they should design their kitchen with a beautiful backsplash pattern. It definitely consumes time a bit more but it is quite inexpensive and sometimes it is perfectly free but it depends on your resources.
HOW TO GET GOING?
The first step is to decide about the color of the tile, marble, stone, glass tile or anything else that suits you and attract you. In order to get a gorgeous work you will have to calculate the ratio of the material being used and then utilize it on to the area of a square foot. Al most all the full glass backsplashes are available in between 16 inches to 18 inches. Therefore, if you have got 10 lineal feet of full glass backsplash then you can cover an area of about 15 square feet.
Next step is to make a decision about the color of the tile that dominates your choice and your mind that can be used in the splash. Like you decide to have a beige color tile that is for 50% and then you want some other color percentages that you wish to install. Therefore, your hypothetical backsplash will be having a beige tile at 50%, and other colors like a brown tile at 20%, violet color tile at 15%, a biscuit color tile at 10% and a highlighted gold color tile at 5%.
Now you have to apply all the percentages of color tiles on to a square foot area and make an addition of the waste component. This way you will be able to know about the square foot area that you will need for the separate colored tiles to install.
WHAT YOU NEED TO INSTALL THEM?
When you are ready to go with the tiles and al most prepared then you need a multi-purpose mastic, a pair of tile nippers, a grout float and the grout color that you have chosen. Don't feel so confused because you can easily purchase all these items at any local store or shop for just $25.00 or less or you can get it from any of your neighbors who have done it before.
OKAY LET's GET STARTED:
This is full of entertainment and fun because you have to break the tiles. It is advised to wear gloves and some eye shield in order to avoid any accident of getting any sharp piece of tile in to your eyes or get the wounds badly. You can easily break the tiles with a hammer, wood or just place the tile on to the top of a pencil and then just press downwards from both sides and the tile will be broken. You can make the settings with the tile nippers.
Now place the mastic on to a smaller area of the wall once at a moment and begin sticking the tile pieces with proper knowledge of the ratio of different tiles that you are using. Keep the mastic as it is without any touch for about 24 hours after the installation is complete. You will admire the design and appearance of your kitchen....
