Roketa Scooters - To Buy or Not to Buy?

Many Chinese scooters are currently available in the market. In fact, 50% of the scooters in the world are manufactured by China. As these scooters are being sold at lower prices, it is very tempting to purchase such scooters instead of getting more expensive models from American, European and Japanese manufacturers.

Unfortunately, even though many Chinese companies have done their part in improving their quality control, changing the way people view the quality of their scooters can take a longer time. Although a lot of people have claimed that they are satisfied by the performance of their Roketa scooters, they are but a small fraction of the people who post their opinions online. Perhaps people who are satisfied with the product feel that they do not have the need to post a comment about this product.

Usual Complaints

Some of the complaints online include defective or fragile parts and unreliable customer service. One of the people who bought a Roketa scooter complained that the scooter had to be started 3 to 5 times just to warm it up and keep it running. He also mentioned that the Roketa scooter he bought had very weak speed cable that was broken after one month.

Another customer complained about the way his Roketa scooter leaked oil the first time he used it. He later found out that the gasket cover was wrongly placed in the machine. He was then advised that a new part will be sent but the company will not take care of the price of the labor. This person spent an extra $200 for the repairs of his brand new scooter.

Another person complained about a muffler guard that suddenly fell off while he was riding his Roketa scooter. He was merely advised to check the nuts and bolts of his bike carefully before he takes it for a ride. Such an answer can be very frustrating. For this reason, most of these people have created sites that are aimed at discouraging people from buying Roketa scooters.

Is it safe to buy Roketa scooters?

Although a lot of customers are frightened away by the information given by these critics, one should consider that since there are a lot of Chinese scooters in the market, the chances of acquiring more complaints are greater. Also, most of the forums online show that the company that distributes do play a role in the propagation of this bad rep. People usually contact the supplier or distributor when they have a problem with their bikes. They are then advised based on the policies of these distributors. If the policy dictates that they should pay for the cost of labor as well as the shipping of the part then they will indeed end up paying more than they bargained for to get a working scooter.

Perhaps it's safe to say that one should buy his or her scooter from a reputable dealer. If the price is to good to be true, better move on to another shop or another distributor.

Cheap Motorcycle Helmets - What to Be Aware of When Purchasing Online

If you're looking to buy a new motorcycle helmet, but don't want to spend a ton of money on name brand helmets, then you'll be looking for a place that sells helmets at a cheaper price. This may not necessarily mean that they will be cheap quality helmets, it will simply mean that they sell the brands that are not as know as your typical name brands, which will save you money.

The idea of buying cheaper motorcycle helmets is the same concept of buying the generic groceries at your local grocery store. There essentially the same product, with a little variation, for a much more reasonable price that has been kept that way because the brand name has not become as popular to the public. That is why the name brand helmets have become so much more expensive. When you buy cheap motorcycle helmets online, you do not have to worry about price inflation as much.

When you're looking at making a purchase online, be sure that the helmets are made of quality materials and that they are not made of cheap plastic. Most places are selling high quality helmets so you rarely have any issues with this, but it doesn't hurt to stay proactive in your search for the perfect motorcycle helmet, after all, it's your money that your spending.

Be sure that the helmet meets or exceeds safety standards if you're concerned about the safety factor of the helmet. Most of the non name brand helmets being sold online do meet the safety standards so this should not be as big of a concern, but you still want to pay attention to this little detail at all times. If a helmet is not structurally safe, then you do not want to buy it. The only time you would want to buy this type of helmet is if you are purchasing a novelty helmet, which is a type of helmet that is not designed to be safe, but more so it is built for looks.

Finally, if you're looking to buy cheap motorcycle helmets online, you'll want to make sure that they site is reputable so that you don't get fooled by anyone that may be running a scam. Don't be afraid to send an email to them to ask a simple question or two, which if the site is legit, could easily be answered in a short period of time.

If you're looking at buying a motorcycle helmet, but don't want to pay a ton of money for the helmet you are looking for, you may want to consider finding a online source for cheap motorcycle helmets. It could end up saving you a lot of money, and you still get high quality biker gear in the long run.

Automobile Mileage Vs Scooter Mileage

With gas prices now at record high levels many consumers have begun to search for alternative methods of transportation. At one time gas mileage was only one factor in buying a car or truck, but it was only one factor among many. Now that gas prices have reached a record high, gas mileage has turned into the number one most important aspect of buying a vehicle. Unfortunately even cars that get decent gas mileage are still expensive to operate with a small car costing upwards of $50 to fill.

With current high fuel prices, it's no wonder why gas motor scooter sales are booming. Scooter mileage is unbelievable! A gas powered scooter can get gas mileage of up to 100 miles per gallon. Even a small car, if driven responsibly only gets around 40-45 miles per gallon. Many Trucks and SUV's get gas mileage in the 20 mile per gallon range, with a fill-up costing over $100! SUV mileage makes scooter mileage look like a joke!

What's even better is that many scooters have small gas tanks that only hold one gallon of fuel and with scooter mileage at around 100 mpg, that means that you can drive 100 miles on that one gallon of fuel, or less than $5.00. Sounds too good to be true, doesn't it!

It's not hard to see why motor scooter sales are predicted to skyrocket. Many commuters could save literally thousands of dollars each year just by buying a gas powered scooter to get to work everyday. Not only will these drivers save money, but motor scooters are also fun to drive. Imagine that you drove 200 miles each week in an SUV. This could cost approximately $40 in fuel costs, whereas the same trip on a motor scooter would cost just $8. The savings over one year would be $1652! Now imagine all the other costs associated with a car or SUV such as insurance, repairs and the high payments and it's easy to see why motor scooters are so popular.

Even beyond the economic factors of owning a motor scooter, the environmental savings are also impressive. Because scooter mileage is so good and they burn much less fuel than a car or SUV the Co2 emissions are also greatly reduced. Not only will you save money, but you will feel good about doing your part to save the environment.

Motorcycle Repair - Restoring Your Bike

Soaring fuel prices have made gas-guzzling cars very unpopular. Welcome to the resurgence of the motorcycle. Why? Because properly maintained motorcycles and motorcycle engines can get between 40 and 60 miles a gallon. Smaller scooters get upwards of 90 miles a gallon, pretty good for an economy with $4-per-gallon gasoline.

Because of this, bike sales have soared. Motorcycle repair, too, can come in handy. Do you have a bike in storage that you haven't dusted off for awhile? There's a good chance you can be among those restoring motorcycles so that you can ride your old road hog again.

Restoring your older motorcycle to working condition starts with some basic steps:

Check Fuel
If you didn't use a fuel stabilizer before you put the bike into storage, drain your old fuel (including tank, fuel lines and carburetor as applicable) before you run the engine, and put new in. Lubricate spark plug ports with a little oil, too, before you start things up.

Check Oil
Change the oil and filter if you didn't do so before you started. If you did, top levels off.

How Is Your Battery?
Make sure leads are not corroded and that the battery will fully charge and then hold a charge. If it doesn't, replace the battery.

Inspect The Chain
Because your chain transfers power from the engine to the rear wheel, it is very important that it be in excellent shape. Look the chain over for the following:

-- Is the chain the proper tension? You should be able to grasp it in the center and move it about one inch in either direction, up or down.

-- Are front and wheel sprocket teeth in good condition? If the teeth have grooves or "waves" in them or they show other signs of wear, you probably need new sprockets (chain will probably show similar wear and need replacement).

-- Check every single section of the chain for signs of wear and for proper tension. It should move about an inch when you pull on it. Tighten the chain if it's loose, and loosen it if it's tight. If the links themselves are too tight, you might need to replace the whole chain.

-- Clean dirt off the chain with a clean towel or rag before you apply lubricant. Make sure you thoroughly lubricate all sprocket teeth and links.

-- Lubricate the chain well. Remember that some solvents should not be used with rubber if your chain has rubber parts to it. Use a proper solvent and wipe off any excess lubricant with a clean rag.

-- Set chain tension properly by moving your rear wheel and axle forward or backward. Both sides of the axle should be aligned properly before you tighten things up or the chain and sprockets might wear out quickly. Tighten the axle nuts and replace the cotter pin with a new one if needed.

Fluid Levels
Brake, clutch and coolant levels should be checked as necessary. Make sure you replace missing brake fluid with a new container of the same brand you used last time. Let your bike idle for a few minutes before you take off so that all fluids circulate properly.

Tires and Suspension
Inspect everything thoroughly before you take your first ride. If you kept your bike stored upright on a kickstand, make sure your tires aren't cracked, marked, or flat. In addition, check to make sure tire wear and air levels are good.

The PDF version of the Motorcycle Safety Foundation's Inspection checklist is available here: http://www.msf-usa.org/downloads/T-CLOCSInspectionChecklist.pdf. It's a good idea to go through it before putting your old bike on the road again.

The above tips on repairing motorcycles should have you up and running in no time. So go on, and get ready to feel the pull of the open road again.

Safety and Legal Considerations When Using an Electric Bike

How times have changed from the days when man's only reliable means of conveyance was to walk everywhere! Indeed, even in living memory for most of us there have been developments in existing modes of transport and innovations of other, newer types which have made for a wide choice of vehicles for enjoyment and transport. Of these forms of transport, an interesting one is the electric bicycle. In actual fact the electric cycle has been in existence in one form or another since 1895 - but development on the medium has been inconsistent, and there is little widespread agreement even on how to categorize them.

Mindful of how this could lead to problems, the US Federal Government has recently taken steps to standardize the laws surrounding electric bikes. It is now a federal law that, as long as an electric bike cannot travel at any more than 20 miles per hour on its own stored power, it is to be treated under the laws of the road like any other pedal bicycle. Should the cyclist wish to power it to move faster than that, it remains a bicycle under the laws of the land, as only the existing road speed limits apply to a proficient road cyclist.

This means that, in general, there is no requirement for the cyclist on an electric bike to have a license for it. That said, different states have different laws on the bikes and in some cases they are banned from the road altogether. In these states, the process of adopting the federal law is still under advisement, and the law itself is seen as a guideline in so doing. At the present time, for example, New York is still debating the text of its law on e-bikes and they are, for the moment, not permitted on the roads. This is expected to change when the law is finalized in the State Senate.

These laws are slightly less restrictive than some of the laws currently in existence in the rest of the world. In many parts of Europe the law is similar to that in the US, with a slightly less forgiving speed limit of 25 kilometers an hour (16 mph). The law in Canada is broadly similar to that in the US, with minor textual nuances all that differ from the American model.

The overall impression given by and relevant to the law on electric bikes is that as long as the cyclist sticks to the rules of the road as governed by their state and relating to an ordinary pedal bike, the need to legislate any more firmly on electric bikes is limited at most. A speed of about 20 mph is considered to be a typical cruising speed for a bicycle powered by a human anyway - slower than that and they will need to be pushing on the pedals merely to remain upright. Nonetheless, anyone taking to the roads on an electric bike will need to be fully capable of handling it at speeds of 20 mph, or they will certainly face legal questions.

Customize Your Ride With Motorcycle Accessories

With so many motorcycle accessories to choose from it's not hard to customize your ride. Nope, the hard part comes when you try to decide what exactly you want and need.

Some accessories are safety related while others are strictly for fun and appearance. It's probably a good idea to balance the two.

Number one in safety accessories should always be to purchase a quality helmet that meets or exceeds government standards and that fits properly. This is not the place to settle. Buy the best you can afford. Helmets are available in many colors and lots of designs so you shouldn't have trouble finding one that matches your bike.

There are a number of other motorcycle accessories available that you can invest in that are safety related. There is everything from goggles, sunglasses, leather gloves, chaps and jackets, right through to full riding suits. It's probably not a bad idea to buy some rain gear as well. This will make rides in inclement weather more comfortable.

If you take a lot of trips there are accessories to make carrying gear a lot easier. You can choose from a variety of pouches and bags that attach to your bike and can be removed when you reach your destination. For short trips you may want to leave the saddle bags at home and get a motorcycle back pack.

If you want to really enjoy your motorcycle, you'll want to be comfortable. You have the option of changing the handlebars or even the seat to add to your comfort. Adding an extra set of foot pegs so you can stretch out your legs is an option many riders opt for. If you often carry a passenger on the back, you may want to think about installing a back rest for her.

Now if you want to customize the appearance of your bike there are a ton of accessories you can choose from. Almost anything chrome is a popular choice. But how you customize your motorcycle is really a matter of personal preference. Each manufacturer has certain unique accessories that reflect their brand. There of course are all kinds of after market accessories available as well.

If you are not sure what exactly you want to do, spend some time going through showrooms to see what the newest accessories are. Motorcycle magazines will give you lots of ideas and advertisers feature their latest products.

Best of all might be to attend a motorcycle show or swap meet. Sometimes just seeing a bike that is all decked out can solidify your own plans in your mind. Once you know what you want it's easy to customize your ride with the right motorcycle accessories.

Advantages of Using Gas Powered Scooters

If you have friends who are scooter freaks then gas powered scooters are great gift ideas for them. The biggest advantage of these scooters are that they are all fuel efficient and if the increasing price of gas is worrying you then any of these should be the ideal one as your regular transport.

Advantages of using gas powered scooters: According to a recent survey in US almost one out of three Americans prefers to ride the gas powered scooters. They use it keeping in mind the following advantages.

More speed for you: When you are thinking about speed then the gas powered scooters can really run fast. You can choose a scooter that runs at 16 miles per hour to one which can get a speed up to 65 miles per hour. Though the noisy engine might disturb you but then here is a solution for that too. Get a C.A.R.B Tier 2 exhaust emission motor.

A scooter which is more compact: The gas scooters unlike the other means of transport are quite light in weight with a small stature. It is easier to find a parking space for your gas scooter than a car or any other transport. Moreover it is easier to maneuver through narrow lanes in case you are stuck in traffic.

No headache of registration: The biggest advantage of riding a gas scooter is that in most cases you require neither a registration nor a driving license. This means that you do not have to shell out money for license or registration and you might not even need to have vehicle insurance in some cases.

More reliable: It is better to go for a gas scooter from a reputed brand and before buying it always ask for a warranty. Once you have a gas scooter you can find for yourself how good the service is but then remember it needs maintenance also and if you maintain it properly it is the best vehicle that you can have.

Think about expense: If you want to buy a car it will cost you a fortune and therefore if you need to have something at a lower price then go for a gas scooter; you can have them at a price as low as $300. Moreover they also come in various sizes and before buying it you can survey the models and decide which one suits you.

Environment friendly: The gas scooters operate on two stroke engine oil as well as gasoline. Since they come fitted with C.A.R.B Tier 2 exhaust therefore the fuel emission are in negligible amount if compared with that of a car and therefore is less harmful for you as well as the environment.

With so many advantages gas powered scooters are indeed best bargains for you as well as your friends who love scooters or want to own a vehicle.

Gas Scooters - Things to Consider Before Buying

Gas scooters seem to be all the rage these days, and gas prices are part of the reason.  Not only are gas prices going up, but people are becoming more aware of carbon dioxide emissions and its effect on the environment.  A scooter is an easy and fun way to shrink your carbon footprint while still being mobile.  The miles per gallon of gas (mpg) of the average scooter is often 3-4 times that as an average car.

Look for a 4 Cylinder Engine in Your Gas Scooter

If you are considering a scooter strictly to cut down on your carbon emissions you should consider a 4 cylinder model vs. a 2 cylinder model.  A 2 cylinder engine (especially an older engine) needs oil added to the gasoline for lubrication.  That oil is burned during combustion and as a result the engine produces more emissions than a 4 cylinder engine of comparable size.  California considers carbureted and direct injection engines to be "high emission" engines.  They consider direct injection engines, typically those manufactured after 1999 to be "clean emission" engines.  Also be aware that 2 cylinder engines must have oil added to their gasoline in a specific ration.  If you want to avoid the extra hassle, then skip the 2 cylinder scooter altogether.

Make Sure Your Gas Scooter is Rated California Compliant

If you're looking to buy a scooter in California, or just want to make sure that your scooter is a "clean emission" engine, make sure it is California compliant.  There should be a sticker on the engine telling you if it is rated.  If you live in California make sure you find the sticker.  There have been reports of Chinese imports coming into the country that were labeled as being inspected for California, but were not actually inspected.  A California man was asked to surrender his plates and title by the State of California after the scooter he bought was found to not be inspected.

If you are not worried about emissions, or adding oil to your gasoline mixture, and gas mileage is your only concern, then almost any gas scooter will fit the bill for you.  Most scooters have at least a 50 mpg rating.  Any scooter you buy will get better gas mileage than any car.  The only thing you need to look for are the safety features that make it legal for your area.  Different states and counties in the U.S. have different laws as to what a street legal vehicle is.  Some have extra licensing laws and age limits, as well as helmet laws.  Make sure that the scooter you buy has the proper equipment for your area.  This list covers common equipment that most states regulate:

Headlights
Brake lights
Brakes
Helmet laws
Horsepower

This is not an exhaustive list, and covering all aspects for every municipality is beyond the scope of this article, but your state Department of Transportation (DOT) should have a list on their website. Have fun shopping for your new scooter, there are dealers in almost every city across the US and Europe.  Gas scooters can be a fun way to travel, and they can also save you money while saving the environment.

Scooters are great because they reduce the amount of traffic on the roads around cities. They are quite cheap to run and you do not need much experience to ride one. A lot of places around the world do not require you to have a license to ride a 50cc scooter.

There are many different types of scooters on the market today and most are classified depending on their motor size and use. Some of the more eccentric types of scooters include and air scooter and a diving scooter. Air scooters are small types of helicopters and diving scooters are used as an underwater vehicle by scuba divers to gain a deeper and wider range while diving. Some of the other types of scooters that are on the market include ice scooters, maxi scooters, knee scooters, water scooters, and mobility scooters. With such a wide range, there will surely be something for you and your needs.

The best way to go about shopping online is to do as much research as you can before making a purchase. This will ensure that you can find the perfect scooter at the best price for you. Giving the Gift of Leather Motorcycle Gear

Are you looking for the perfect gift for that fellow biker but you're just not sure what to get him or her? Well chances are they may be in need of a nice new motorcycle jacket that they can wear on the long trips that they take, or they can wear if they're just cruising around town. Motorcycle jackets make great gifts for just about anyone that loves wearing leather for a number of reasons.

One of the reasons motorcycle jackets make great gifts is because just about every motorcyclist needs one to keep them protected while on the road and also to keep them warm in cooler temperatures. Motorcycle jackets are made of thick leather which can stand up to road scraping and can help protect the rider in the event of an accident. They will not help save lives in major accidents, but they will greatly reduce the likelihood of getting road rash and other painful cuts to the areas that are covered by the jackets. They also help protect the rider from dirt and debris that may be flying around in the air while the rider is on the motorcycle. If no jacket is worn, then the rider is more vulnerable to being hit by dirt and debris that may be present.

Another reason that motorcycle jackets make great gifts is because every biker loves leather gear. Leather gear has always been the signature apparel item for bikers around the world and it helps make the biker appearance stand out. Some great leather gifts include jackets, gloves, pants, chaps, boots, saddlebags, vests, hats, and more. For those that are looking to dress out there bikes, the leather items will definitely be a necessity and you can help them greatly by providing some of these items as gifts.

Finally, the leather motorcycle jacket is not just a great item for those that ride motorcycles, they are a great gift for anyone that enjoys wearing leather jackets. They can go for the biker look if they want to or they can go with a more sophisticated look as some provide that. With so many different styles of jackets to choose from, you'll have no problem finding the one that makes the perfect gift.

Credit Repair Software Review - Fixing Your Bad Credit With Software?

Credit repair software.
That one term alone was searched in 1 search engine over 4000 times in one month. Why is that? Why is there such a demand to find a solid, robust and effective credit repair software solution?

Chances are, if you've attempted self credit repair before, you can answer that question without much thought. The fact of the matter is, credit repair is commonly considered to be one of the most tedious, and disorganized financial tasks you can undertake. I'd estimate more than 65% of those I've counseled on credit repair either give up after the first month, or just are too confused to continue.

The reasons for that are plain to see.

You can start with all three credit reports at one time, and draw up a good action plan, no problem there. However, 30 days later when you start getting several correspondence from the credit bureaus, you can easily lose focus. The bureaus, Equifax, Experian, and Trans Union, each will send you letters throughout the investigation period with updates, and replies... some having nothing to do with your disputes.

To complicate matters further, its easy to be in a much less enthusiastic mindset to do the tedious administrative tasks associated with credit repair. There is such a time gap, its just easy to forget your next best moves, let alone stay really motivated to "figure out" what to do next.

You have three options to solve the dilemma of all the tedious work, and the disorganization associated with credit repair planning.

1. Quit your efforts, and give up. Go on living with bad credit and take no action.

Let's face it, this is an option. Ineffective at best, but an option none the least. Truth is, you wouldn't have started your efforts, or even read this article if you thought you should just ignore your bad credit. I hope you see that no action is not the best option, so I'll move on quickly to option 2.

2. Hire a credit repair service.

This option, believe it or not, so often is where people turn to next if giving up doesn't sit well with them. For the reasons I spoke of above, this removes the pain associated with the whole process. The down sides to this option, aside from the obvious financial impact month after month are multiple.

First and most importantly, when you hire a credit repair service, you take the person with the most integrity in the process, out of the equation. In other words, there is no person on the planet that has a more genuine desire to see your credit improve fast, than yourself. Secondly, and related to that, its not financially beneficial to the credit repair service to fix your bad credit fast. For more information see my recent article on the 3 things credit repair services don't want you to know.

3. Use a solid Credit Repair Software to almost automate the process.

I recently went on a vigilant search to find the most effective, and complete credit repair software. Specifically, I was looking for a solution to offer my clients that fall victim so often to motivational, and disorganization pitfalls we spoke about earlier. I tried several "popularly" promoted software that claim a lot of promises. I was severely disappointed more than once. The lack of completeness was clearly apparent. However, I did come across the best credit repair software I've seen to date. In fact, I purchased a full license, and was able to take it for a test drive. Here's what I found.

The dispute letters that auto populate are strongly written, and effective. Once you enter your information in your profile, the letters will be automatically generated at the point of a click.

The calendar feature is dynamic, and will remind you when you should expect a response, and EXACTLY what to do on that date. Brilliant.

The knowledge base on credit repair laws is very robust, allowing you to study specific areas of credit repair processes.

Its a one time cost, rather than monthly fees, and you own it for life.

If you're looking for Credit Repair Software that can exponentially automate the most tedious tasks, as well as provide you step-by-step guidance, you should check out this guys software. Really impressive.

Motorcycle Shops - Motorcycling Parts and Scooter Spares

Motorcycle shops online, how do you find the best motorcycle trader that can fit your exact needs and requirements for motorcycle spares, parts and accessories?

Searching for your parts as we all know, can sometimes be rather frustrating, however, there really is no need to get all hot and bothered if you follow just a few simple techniques, which I hope to provide you with below.

Not everyone has a very popular make of motorcycle, so finding sometimes the right parts for you can be quite a difficult process, if you do not know how to find the best motorcycle shops or motorcycle trader business. However, all is not lost, here we provide a chunk of advice so that you can get a good grip of the situation. So, let's tackle this one step at a time, so that this isn't a long drawn out process for you.

There are one or two huge marketplaces where many a motorcycle trader and motorcycle shops exist that can supply you today, and at a very good deal prices too, if you know where to look.

eBay is just one example. If you are completely stuck finding that all elusive part for your motorcycle, the number of motorcycle traders on this particular marketplace platform and motorcycle shops is truly staggering and certainly if you contact any of these shops, motorcycle trader businesses, if they cannot help you directly, with their source of contacts in the business, generally speaking it isn't very long before they can put you in contact with a motorcycle trader or shops that can actually assist you with your inquiry directly.

Of course not limiting yourself to just one country specific eBay, for example finding motorcycle shops or a motorcycle trader let's say within the USA, you can also try looking on other international eBay marketplaces too for the motorcycle shop or motorcycle traders that can possibly help you. You just need to be aware that there may be higher postage / courier charges if the item is being sent to you from abroad and on higher value items, depending upon where you are from possibly some import duty too, so you may need to make yourself aware of this in advance.

Another simple tool to use when searching for motorcycle shops or a motorcycle trader that can help you online is to search via Google of course. If you want less search results, simply use apostrophe's in the search window. For example, let's say I was looking for, 'motorcycle shops' - I would type this in as, "Motorcycle Shops", this would return much less results overall and more importantly, results which were less general than without the quotes on those two words. The same would apply if I wanted to search for, 'motorcycle trader', again, by simply placing apostrophes around the keyword/s used, this would return much narrowed down results, try it and see for yourself! Simply copy and paste if you need to, "Motorcycle Trader", and compare the two keywords both with and without the apostrophes. You can use this technique with any keyword choice you choose in any of the major search engines.

These simple tools can release for you a great deal of tension and time lost trying to find the climax, that ultimate motorbikes find, those all elusive parts, spares or accessories that you desire for all motorcycling products online. Electric Scooters - A Lot Cheaper Than Owning a Car

Electric scooters can range in cost starting at $100 and costing as much as $1200 if not more. How can such a range be possible r? The answer lies in the details and options available to the buyer. Before purchasing an electric scooter consider the following questions:

What price range are you considering?

How often do you plan on driving it?

What distance do you plan on traveling daily using it?

What terrain do you plan on encountering? Pavement, road, rock?

Will you be using it for pleasure or business?

How important is speed in your traveling?

What type of inclines will you be facing?

Will you need to carry packages?

Will you want to take occasional passengers?

What is your body type?

The above questions can begin to filter your search for the right electric scooter for you and your needs.

If you are planning on traveling long distances, up inclines, with partners or larger packages and for business, you will something high quality. You will need it to be reliable and sturdy for your traveling needs. Look for models with slightly larger foot platforms, with comfortable handlebar grips, and with more advanced motors. Larger motors allow for more speed and power. Watts can start at around 100 and go to over 1000 with mileage per hour starting at 8 up to as much as 20 even uphill.

These scoots are now being manufactured to travel off-road as well. Rock and dirt road tracking models allow greater fun and versatility in your traveling.

Most electric scooters are built for standing positions only. However, some do include seating areas or areas for storing goods. The problem with these is that they add extra weight to a device that is already trying to carry your own weight and added materials, which can slow you down and use up more energy quickly.

The best part of using these is that they are easy to maintain. Unlike motor scooters, these devices can be easily carried and stored. They also have fewer moving parts and equipment to care for. Instead, the compact electric pack can easily be charged and is then ready to use.

This electric technology is also quiet as well as environmentally friendly. With nearly 20 years of experience in the making, scooters do not run on fuel and make use of electric energy.

Even with environmentally friendly vehicles, you need to practice safe riding habits. Always wear a helmet and shoes at all times. Knee and elbow pads are optional, but will always help to prevent scrapes and cuts in an accident. Even though 20 mph is a safe speed for a scooter, keep in mind you are not the only person on the road and until car, van, and truck drivers become more conscious of sidewalk and roadside traffic, it's better to be safe than sorry.

Yes, there is a bad side to taking these supplements, but you can avoid all of the bad and worse side effects! All you have to do is get the supplement that fit you the most. You may get lucky and find one supplement that fits you perfectly, but most people don't. This means you will have to find other supplements to help with the balance of your body.

Now you have to choose the right supplements. There are a lot of them out there on the market today, but how will you be able to decide which will benefit you the most? Well, that's a easy question to answer. No one knows yourself as well as you do! Take a look around, whether it's on the internet or in a store, and see what you find. It also helps to do a little research. The internet is the best way to go. I wouldn't use the trial and error tricks on this one.

It's always a good ideal to get on a schedule or a routine. This way, you can get your body used to everything. The first few weeks are always the hardest, but once you get used to it, it's a walk in the park. The hard part is staying on the schedule that you set into place.

There are so many supplements out there on the market today, you would be exhausted trying to find one that fits you perfectly. So, let's take a look at the most common ones. I'll start with 3 just to name a few. Protein, Caffeine, and Glutamine supplements are great if you are just starting out with weight training supplements.

Protein supplements help to build your muscles as well as shape them. Along with Protein, comes the supplement called Creatine. Creatine is very similar to Protein, but does a little bit more. Creatine acts just as Protein does, but Creatine helps to build bone density. This is why many people prefer Creatine over Protein.

In today's supplement world, caffeine is becoming very popular. A lot of people like to use this supplement because it has carbohydrates and sugars in them that help curb your appetite.

Glutamine is another supplement that is the most helpful. Glutamine has amino acids in it that help repair your muscles that may have gotten damaged by your weight training exercises.

Guidelines for Purchasing Motorcycle Leather Saddlebags

Leather saddlebags are essential particularly for motorcycles being used for sports. They will help to carry daily needed items like refreshments, handbags and small quantity of reserve oil which can not be placed in your back pack or pockets.

Instruction search for motorcycle accessories can be done in your local store. Calculate your budget and search for a best pair of saddlebags with in your budget. Generally the prices of motorcycle saddlebags vary from 100 to 400 dollars. Majority of leather bags are adjustable to almost any motorcycle. Before purchasing the bag it is necessary to check its adjustment by laying it across the back fender. The next step is to install the saddlebag. It is an easy process and can be done with in 10 minutes. Start by removing the seat . Then put the bag's yoke on your motorcycle frame so that your saddlebags should hang downwards on one side of the frame. Place the seat on the yoke and the leather saddlebag and tighten the ties to forks or shock of your motorcycle on both side.

One should refrain from buying leather saddlebags and other accessories from showrooms and also refrain from adding them to a new motorcycle finance package. This is because show rooms charge high prices for these accessories. Buy the motorcycle brackets that are fitted to the both sides of back fender. These metal brackets are used to keep the saddlebag away from the rear wheel and shocks of the motorcycle. These motorcycle brackets can be purchased from anywhere between 35 to 95 dollars. In order to customize the bag it is possible to add studs to the saddle bags. Valuables should never be placed in saddlebags moreover lockable saddlebags should be preferred to avoid any theft. Scooter Blenny and Other Difficult Marine Fish

Sometimes i think collectors just get their hands on anything from the wild and hope some aquarium shop will take them. I' have seen the strangest fish being imported that i know will probably never sell. Fish like the flying gurnard and the crocodile fish.

Unfortunately they also bring in some very common fish that do extremely poorly in our aquariums. The three listed are the scooter blenny, the mandarin goby and members of the filefish family.

Scooter Blenny

While somewhat drab looking with their overall white and brown markings on their bodies, they are still brought in with great regularity. The problem with the scooter blenny is the fact that it has a very narrow dietary range in the wild.

They eat any small crustaceans they can get their hands on like copepods and munnid isopods and any other small life forms in the sand substrate and around the rock. Attempts to get them on prepared fish food often fail. Only those with large established aquariums manage to keep them with successfully.

Filefish

All filefish look very similar to one another. They have a highly compressed body like that of the surgeonfish and they possess a distinctive dorsal fin that when erect, looks like a spike.

The problem with these fishes also has to do with their diet. They feed only on one thing. Coral polyps. Which means keeping them alive would mean deep pockets to spend on live corals as food. They will destroy a SPS coral colony with gusto and as such, they are not reef safe.

Mandarin Goby

The difficulties in caring for the mandarin goby are very similar to its cousin, the scooter blenny. They are both imported in huge numbers and the both eventually die in huge numbers as well. However, it should be noted that with persistent effort, you can get them to feed on frozen foods most of the time. There is no guarantee for success and some specimens for one reason or another simply do not feed, even on copepods.

Alpinestars Boot Review - Choosing the Right Motocross Boot

With so many options, it can be difficult to determine which Alpinestars boot is right for you. Obviously, we all would love to have top of the line boots, but often our budget dictates our options. This article explains the various Alpinestars boot options.

Let's start with the cream of the crop. If money is no object, you'll want to go with the Tech 10 Alpinestars boot. This is the latest and greatest from Alpinestars. The biggest asset of the Tech 10 over a lower priced Alpinestars boot is an improved internal safety structure. The boots still allow you to move naturally, but protect your foot and ankle from unnatural movements and injury.

These boots also have a better weight distribution (lighter on the lower half) so they feel lighter moving around. Your legs will appreciate this feature on longer rides.

If the Alpinestars Tech 10 boots are out of your price range, you can save about $100 by stepping down to the Tech 8 Alpinestars boot. This has been the best boot on the market for years and next to the Tech 10, it still is. The Tech 8 Alpinestars boot offers plenty of protection and comfort.

If you want to save another $100, consider the Tech 6 Alpinestars boot. You'll give up the aluminum buckles in exchange for plastic, lose a removable bootie, and give up the replaceable sole. These are still good boots, but you really get a lot for your money by stepping up to the Tech 8 Alpinestars boot.

A pair of Tech 6 Alpinestars boot will set you back a little under $300 and a pair of Tech 10's run under $500. If you shop around, you can usually find them on sale. I use MCGearDeals.com. They have a listing of the best deals on Alpinestars boots, so I don't have to spend my time searching the web.

Whether you choose an Alpinestars boot or another brand, make sure you get the most protection you can afford. Don't be cheap with your foot protection. An ankle injury can ruin your riding for years. Do yourself a favor and get the most protection you can afford.

Understanding the Honda CR 125

Honda CR 125 is one the motorcycles in the Honda CR series, which rocked the motorcycling world for most of the 1990s and the early part of the first decade of the 21st century. That was before it started to be phased out in the year 2008, when Honda stopped production of the CR series.

Yet the discontinuation of the CR series' production notwithstanding, many Honda CR 125 motorcycles are still to be spotted on the roads, and will probably continue to be, for the next decade and possibly beyond. Indeed, it is not inconceivable that in the parts of the world where the 'used motorcycles' trade is rife, the CR 125 is probably being refurbished and sold as a 'virtually new' motorcycle, the suspension of its production notwithstanding.

In the years when it was on top of the market, there were a number of things that people found alluring in the Honda CR 125.

The fact that it came with a five speed gear box; at a point in time when most motorcycles were still equipped with four speed gear box. The idea of a relatively affordable motorcycle with a five speed gearbox was highly attractive to many.

The braking and suspension system on the Honda CR 125 were remarkable too. The motorcycle came with both front and rear brakes (which every motorcycle does anyway). But what set apart the Honda CR 125 is the fact these were single disk-based brakes, a braking system that was reputed to be the most efficient then. The front and back suspension systems amount to 318 millimeters each, meaning that the people and goods on top of the motorcycle are considerably well protected from the impact, even on the roughest of riding terrains.

Speed-wise, the Honda CR 125 was somewhere in the mid of the range. Its top speed of 135 kilometers per hour meant that while there were quite a few motorcycles that could beat it hands-down, it was till above most motorcycles in the market in this regard. In any case, the maximum speed of 135 kilometers per hour is more than most people really need, for day to day uses beyond the motorcycle racing tracks.

Beyond speed, power is another important parameter people look for in a motorcycle, and in this regards, the 41 horse power that the Honda CR 125 is equipped with was good for many people - especially in its early years of production in the 90s.

The weight of 197 pounds, working up to just around 100 kilograms was considered good - that is, heavy enough for stability, yet light enough for maneuverability and fuel efficiency.

The fuel capacity of 2 whole gallons that the Honda CR 125 comes with makes it a motorbike that can do considerable distances between refuels, a handy feature really, considering that it is made to be more of an off-road machine. Being equipped with a carburetor-based engine, and a 'no frills' liquid cooling system makes the Honda CR 125 all the more attractive, as an off-road machine.

Hero Honda Karizma R 225cc Review

Hero Honda has boldly boosted the self image of the company with the introduction of New Karizma R 225cc Indian Sports bike. This bike is the first of its kind in India and the company's flagship model.

Hero Honda Karizma Performance Review:

Karizma has been rejuvenated with its new avatar - the Karizma racer edition 'R'. When I took the bike for a test ride, I was simply amazed at its pickup. The bike gave me a pure adrenalin rush when I twisted the throttle in the second gear. The bike is claimed to give a mileage of 35 - 40 kmpl which is a bit low for the Indian market, but people who really love high powered bikes will not care much about the mileage.

The Looks of the Bike:

Regarding looks, in my opinion, Karizma is the most majestic bike around. The 5 spoke alloy wheels, the front flaring, dual tail lamps and a digital dash board are the highlights. The bike comes in blue, yellow, black, silver and dark red. In my opinion, yellow is the best one since it is the most head turning of all.

Final Verdict:

Hero Honda Karizma is definitely a bike worth buying. If you are buying a 150cc bike, wait for a few months, get more cash and go for the best bike in the market. Even though the mileage is a little low, it makes up for the kind of respect that you will get for riding the most distinguished bike in India.

Scooter Tuning is Not a Crime But You Need to Do it Safe

Some people might think it probably isn't legal to tune your scooter to the max, wile in fact in most countries it is. As long as your scooter still meets the standard safety prescriptions you can tune your scooter to the new and improved scooter you want it to be. But there are some safety precautions you need to take before you start with scooter tuning.

It does not matter if you hire someone else to do the tuning or if you do it yourself you still are going to spend a pretty penny which you need to see as a proper investment to make a super scooter. Do not let your neighbors nephew tinker with your scooter just because he can do it very cheap. remember there is a reason why he is cheap.

Do it good, do it yourself

When you have decided to start with scooter tuning yourself you are in for a steep learning curve. You should avoid to treat your scooter as a trial and error tuning course and the only way to avoid this is to do some proper research. Before you start doing anything you should find instructions and gather materials and equipment that you are going to need to do the job right. Instructions about what you need to do, in what way and with what tools can be found online but you can also join a scooter club where other people can help you. When you decide to do it yourself and you have done your homework you can be sure that you have done everything to get it right. And when you have any doubt, do not try it just yet but ask around on the many forums that are available online.

You need a good work space for scooter tuning

When it comes to work space it all starts and end with safety, did you know that the most common accidents with teenage boys is with scooter accidents and that nearly 60 percent of those accidents is because of mishaps with scooter tuning? Most of the time it are just minor injuries but they could have been avoided. And one big part of that has to do with a good clean and safe work space. The front lawn is most of the time not such a safe place, you need to be able to move around freely and not damage anything or anyone by spilling grease, oil or gas. There is one advantage in working outside, scooter tuning needs to be done in a well-ventilated place this is because there are some chemicals you might need that can make you dizzy.

The area you work in also needs to be a flat area of concrete. It needs to be level this means that when you put something on the floor it will not roll away. You also need to make sure that pets, and children can not come in your work area, there are dangerous tools and even chemicals involved in scooter tuning and you need to prevent a child takes one of your tools when you have your back turned. If you do not have such an area, look around if your friends do have a spare space you can use.

The garage?

Working in a well ventilated and clean area would be the best thing we can advise you, but you need to make sure that the garage has no clutter like paper and other junk laying around. And again make sure that the garage is well ventilated. If you are going to use chemicals or power tools make sure you test electrical circuits and outlets to make sure you are not going to have sparks when you start working.

If you keep these safety tips in mind you are finally in for a great adventure of turning your basic regular scooter in to a vast, smart new and improved version. Scooter tuning is a fun an challenging activity and we wish you the best of luck.

Motorcycle Helmets - How To Ride Safely

Make sure you take extra caution when you ride a motorcycle. Riders need to take responsibility for their own safety and make sure that they have the proper equipment and training. Among the first things that need to happen is that a motorcycle rider wears a properly fitted motorcycle helmet and follows established riding rules. This is essential to the safety of everyone on the road with you, including yourself.

When you purchase a motorcycle helmet, you need to determine what your correct size is. Use a tape measure and measure approximately one inch above your eyebrows around your head, taking note of your head's circumference. Standard motorcycle helmet sizing charts will have the correct size for you based upon the measurement. However, two people with the same head measurements will not necessarily be able to wear the same helmet. People's heads are shaped differently, so that different models have different internal shapes for this reason.

Street-use motorcycle helmets must meet Department of Transportation approved requirements. These are often made from molded polycarbonate plastic. They have been certified to withstand substantial impact and force, and prevent object penetration. In addition, motorcycle helmets may also be Snell-approved. This indicates that the helmets can withstand higher impacts. These helmets generally have a shell that is made of carbon fiber, Kevlar, or fiberglass. This makes them lighter weight than those that are Department of Transportation-approved. Snell approved helmets are recommended by United States racing organizations and sold only in the United States. Some tests say that Snell approved motorcycle helmets are not any safer than those approved by the Department of Transportation, but this is an ongoing controversy that is still undecided.

Safety is a major concern, but comfort, too, must come into play. When the chin strap is in place, the helmet should fit snugly around the ears, head and sides of the jaw without being uncomfortably tight. It should be level and stable on the head. At a minimum, wear the motorcycle helmet you select for 30 to 45 minutes while you are in the store choosing it. If possible, make an agreement with the store salesperson to wear the helmet for a day with the option to return it if it doesn't sit right or otherwise doesn't work for you. If your motorcycle helmet is uncomfortable, this can be a distraction, which can make you lose focus and therefore compromise your safety.

You can determine the proper fit of a motorcycle helmet by doing several simple tests. Fasten the chin strap and make sure it fits snugly. The top of the helmet's interior should rest firmly on the top of your head, and the cheek pads should contact your cheeks snugly. Look in all directions and make sure that your field of vision is not impeded. The inner lining should fit securely around the forehead. A finger should not be able to fit between the motorcycle helmet and your forehead. With your head still and a hand on each side of the helmet, move the helmet left to right and up and down. It shouldn't slide in any direction. Push with significant force from the back of the helmet and try to move the helmet forward on your head. Try to move the helmet backwards by pushing from the front of the helmet as well. If the helmet moves forward or backward, it does not fit you properly. Extra padding can be added to the interior of the motorcycle helmet to make it fit more comfortably.

To be safe, you have to abide by motorcycle specific rules. About 25% of motorcycle accidents are judged to be single vehicle accidents, with most of these attributed to rider error. Time and effort should be spent to learn the appropriate skills for this type of transportation. Most motorcycle riders have difficulty cornering, swerving and braking. You can practice these skills alone, but it's recommended that you take motorcycle safety courses. You can also buy motorcycle riding techniques books for further study.

Basic motorcycle riding rules mean that you should keep a stationary focal point when you turn, travel slowly enough to prevent sliding when you go around a curve, and be aware of road conditions and other vehicles on the road. It takes great focus to ride a motorcycle, as well as special riding skills and excellent concentration. Learn and practice riding techniques so that you will be safe when you ride your motorcycle. And remember, you should always wear a helmet.

Troubleshooting Your Mobility Scooter

Mobility scooters help many millions of Americans each year who have trouble walking due to age, arthritis, or muscular diseases. Many grocery and retail stores offer mobility scooters for their customers to use, making it easy to get around and eliminating the need of bringing your with you to the store. As with almost anything mechanical there may come a time that your electric mobility scooter will require some troubleshooting. Make sure you consult the user manual for your mobility scooter, but there are several common things that are easy to check and many times will easily solve the problem you are having.

One of the most dreaded things that can happen, especially after you have seen the full benefit derived from your mobility scooter, is when it just won't start because it appears to be dead. The first thing you should do in these instances is to remove the key and then reinsert the key. If that still does not fix your problem then you should ensure that you have fully charged the battery. If you used it heavily for several days without charging it, it is possible that the unit has no charge. If this does not resolve the problem, then you should reset the breaker switch. Most scooters have a main breaker circuit, which is similar, in concept anyway, to the black breakers commonly found homes. Find the breaker and either turn it off and on again or push the reset button, depending on the model of mobility scooter you have. The next step in the trouble shooting process is to check all of the connections of the battery, and to follow the wires from the battery and check that the wiring harness connections are all tight. If this still does not fix your problem then you will probably want to take the device to a certified service repair center.

If when using your mobility scooter, the battery gauge indicates a full or adequate charge, but the throttle control does not do anything then your mobility scooter may be in free wheel mode. Most electric mobility scooters have something similar to neutral in a car called free wheel mode. When a mobility scooter is in free wheel mode, the brakes and transmission is disengaged which makes it easy to push or pull the mobility scooter. Many times the free wheel mode switch is located in the back of the mobility scooter, so if you are pushing the throttle control and nothing is happening than ensure that it is not in free wheel mode.

If your mobility scooter's main circuit breaker is constantly tripping, or if the battery gauge dips down low and the motor surges or hesitates when the throttle is pushed it could be a sign of an electrical problem. First though ensure that the mobility scooter is fully charged and in the case of a tripping main circuit breaker it may just be a case of infrequent charging, so try to get on a regular charging schedule. If charging the scooter does not fix the problem then it is probably a good idea to take it to a certified service repair center. There are several tests that can be ran on the electrical systems with a battery load tester and voltmeters, both available from most auto parts stores, but these exceed the scope of this document.

If your mobility scooter stops working don't panic. Consult the user manual that came with your mobility scooter and follow these simple troubleshooting steps. If that still doesn't resolve your problem it may be necessary to contact a certified service repair center and have a certified technician take a look your mobility scooter.

A Designer Kitchen Backsplash That Comes in Your Budget

GENERAL VIEW:

The kitchen glass backsplash is an explicit pattern characteristic which is found al most in all modern and designer kitchens. You can have anything to choose from marble, ceramic tiles, glass mosaics, marble mosaics, stainless steel, and even you can go for 24 ct. gold plated tiles. Everyone who want to go for something that can be affordable and can match their budget, then they should design their kitchen with a beautiful backsplash pattern. It definitely consumes time a bit more but it is quite inexpensive and sometimes it is perfectly free but it depends on your resources.

HOW TO GET GOING?

The first step is to decide about the color of the tile, marble, stone, glass tile or anything else that suits you and attract you. In order to get a gorgeous work you will have to calculate the ratio of the material being used and then utilize it on to the area of a square foot. Al most all the full glass backsplashes are available in between 16 inches to 18 inches. Therefore, if you have got 10 lineal feet of full glass backsplash then you can cover an area of about 15 square feet.

Next step is to make a decision about the color of the tile that dominates your choice and your mind that can be used in the splash. Like you decide to have a beige color tile that is for 50% and then you want some other color percentages that you wish to install. Therefore, your hypothetical backsplash will be having a beige tile at 50%, and other colors like a brown tile at 20%, violet color tile at 15%, a biscuit color tile at 10% and a highlighted gold color tile at 5%.

Now you have to apply all the percentages of color tiles on to a square foot area and make an addition of the waste component. This way you will be able to know about the square foot area that you will need for the separate colored tiles to install.

WHAT YOU NEED TO INSTALL THEM?

When you are ready to go with the tiles and al most prepared then you need a multi-purpose mastic, a pair of tile nippers, a grout float and the grout color that you have chosen. Don't feel so confused because you can easily purchase all these items at any local store or shop for just $25.00 or less or you can get it from any of your neighbors who have done it before.

OKAY LET's GET STARTED:

This is full of entertainment and fun because you have to break the tiles. It is advised to wear gloves and some eye shield in order to avoid any accident of getting any sharp piece of tile in to your eyes or get the wounds badly. You can easily break the tiles with a hammer, wood or just place the tile on to the top of a pencil and then just press downwards from both sides and the tile will be broken. You can make the settings with the tile nippers.

Now place the mastic on to a smaller area of the wall once at a moment and begin sticking the tile pieces with proper knowledge of the ratio of different tiles that you are using. Keep the mastic as it is without any touch for about 24 hours after the installation is complete. You will admire the design and appearance of your kitchen....

Motorcycles, Scooters, and Mopeds at Auto Auctions

This economy is going to the dogs. This is a phrase I'm sure we've all heard. People have to choose between gas and groceries. Gone is the quick trip to the general store everyday, to pick up that last thing we forgot. We make lists of all the things we need and make one trip to get it all. The things we forget, we learn to do with out. Today, it's hard to find anyone who isn't struggling with the growing gas prices. There is hope in the fact that, through out history, we have adapted, learned to deal with the rise and fall of the economy.

Today, people have found ways around this latest crisis. Many people are trading in their new vehicles for older more fuel efficient ones. Some are selling their new cars and trucks and buying motorcycles. Motorcycles can be more fuel efficient. Scooters and mopeds are also popular, they would be great for the quick trip for something that you can't do without, but can't afford the gas to make a long trip to get it. The fuel efficient motorcycles, scooters, mopeds could be our way of dealing with this crisis. More and more people are switching to motorcycles. They are also saving money by giving up the payments of their gas hogs.

Sad that our economy forces us to make these sacrifices. No one wants to pay payments and insurance on a brand new SUV or luxury car that they can't even afford to drive. How will you adapt to this crisis? Is trading in your car for a more fuel efficient one the answer for you? Are you thinking about buying a motorcycle? What about a minivan? Compared to the SUV do minivans get better mileage?

With so many Americans giving up their high payments for better mileage, there are a lot of repossessions going on. The number of repo's are growing on a daily basis. After these vehicles get repossessed they then get turned over to an auction, people can then buy them there very cheaply. There are also police auctions where you can buy government seized vehicles. There are many makes and models of these vehicles at auctions. Among them, you will probably find a variety of motorcycles, from BMW motorcycles, Kawasaki, Yamaha, Kymco and Triumph, motorcycle motors and parts. The variety of scooters may likely include Rascal, Vespa, and Tank scooters, also parts, motors and accessories. At an auto auction you will find motorcycles, scooters, mopeds, minivans, cars, trucks, SUV and more. They make these auction sites hard to find, many people don't even know about them. The difficulty in finding them is yet another thing we'll have to deal with.

There are places that can help you find out every thing you need to know about auto auctions. They have auto auction listings for every state. They also have several listings for just about any make and model of vehicle. Everything is organized neatly to make it even easier. These vehicles can be inspected by you, before the sale. At some auction sites they provide you with detailed information about the vehicle your interested in. These vehicles can truly be bought legally for pennies on the dollar. Government auto auctions are still a little known secret. With the ever rising cost of gas, will buying a motorcycle at an auto auction be a possible solution for you?

Electric Scooter Repair - How To Repair An Electric Scooter

Every machine needs maintenance and repairs and an electric scooter is not an exception to this. Of course as compared to a gas powered scooter the amount of maintenance required for an electric scooter is much less, but needs care just like every vehicle.

Gas powered vehicles machines are complex systems with so many things to look after on the other hand an electric scooter is a very simple machine. A person with little knowledge of electrical circuits can repair it on his own without any need to look for a mechanic. But if knowledge of electrical circuits is not there, many options are available.

If you have an electrical scooter in need of repair the first thing you can do is take it to a standard mechanical workshop and ask for help. Since normal gas powered scooters also have electrical circuits in them, every mechanic will have at least some basic knowledge about circuits.

If they refuse to repair it you can simply ask the manufacturer of the electric scooter regarding any special workshops where such electric vehicles are repaired. Since selling electric scooters is a business for them it is strong possibility that they have special tie-ups with workshops around the country to service their scooters.

Depending upon the kind of repair your scooter may need a week or for minor repairs just a few hours. Sometimes it is just a matter of charging the battery (if you don't charge it regularly) ad it's ready to drive again.

However it is necessary to understand that "prevention is the best cure". Regularly use your electric scooter and don't forget to charge it regularly too. If you are way for a few days from your home, you can carry it with you or store in way that it is safe from moisture. Normally it is advisable to look for repair shops before you buy an electric scooter bur since these machines are not complex, they can be repaired easily without much expenses on your part.

Gas Motor Scooters

Gas motor scooters are the best option if you wish to add a little power to your scooters. Propelled by gasoline, they are the best scooters to travel long distances. Coming in different sizes, styles, and colors, they are immensely popular.

Research shows that with passing time, gas motor scooters have doubled in numbers. Small gas motors, especially, seem to be a favorite among people because of their low fuel consumption.

Different types of gas motor scooters are available in the market. Some popular types include the style 150cc, racer 150cc, tank sporty 150cc, and others. Some good companies which make high-quality gas motor scooters include Pocket Rocket, Ultimate, Jet, Thumper, Mosquito and Viper.

Gas motor scooters can be powerful, their motor power ranging from 49cc to 150cc or more. They are fast, and can go up to 65 mph. With good ground clearance and pneumatic tires, they are suitable for long roads.

Usually, gas motor scooters are DOT-certified and come with a warranty. Due to their adherence to DOT regulations, gas scooters have proper brakes, lights, and other safety measures. The only deterrent to such scooters seems to be the noise associated with its engine. But even that is minimized by large mufflers provided with the engine.

The price of gas scooters vary, from $300 to over $2,000. Motor scooters require a valid drivers' license and a moped registration.

Some dealers which provide gas motor scooters at reasonable or even discounted rates include Viza Motors, the Scooter Company, Urban Scoters, Motorized Scooters, All Web Motors, and GMI Motor Sports.

Great for riding, gas motor scooters are fast, smooth, and convenient for most people. They are indeed the best means of transportation for all.

Did You Ever Consider a Moped or Scooter?

Have you ever really sat down and looked at the benefits of riding a scooter or moped rather than driving a car or travelling on public transport? If you did you would go straight to your nearest moped shop and buy a nice little 50cc moped.

The first benefit is over car driving. A good car these days will set you back thousands and will cost you a load more in insurance, tax and petrol. These all add up to make the car the second most expensive thing you will buy and use behind a house. While some of us need a car for things such as family life many people have a car each and are the only ones who actually use it. Why when you could have a 50cc moped for example and spend only a fraction of the price and still get the same level of freedom.

Another benefit is over public transport. Take a train for example. We all know that only certain places will have a train station and you have to get to it first before you can even get on a train. Then you spend a small fortune on a ticket especially if its before 9am. You then stand waiting for a train to arrive and if your lucky won't be cancelled. When it does its full and you have to fight your way on to the train only to stand until you get to where your going and then the fight begins again just to get off. Then you have to repeat that in the evening on the way home. The buses can be better but they stop every mile and travel quite slowly. They take forever to get where your going and again you are stuck to a timetable assuming the buses turn up. Not always a good choice. A moped for example will give you the freedom to travel with a timetable. Even cheap mopeds like a 50cc moped would work out better than public transport. Would be a fair amount cheaper as well.

A new benefit of scooters and mopeds is the effect it has on the environment. One dangerous craze today is to go out and buy a huge car so big that you could be mistaken for thinking it's a tank. Guzzling fuel and heavily polluting the atmosphere. Now in the 21st century we are become more aware and conscious of the damage we are doing to the environment so again a scooter or moped would be a much better choice. They are so much lighter and use much less petrol. This means far lower carbon dioxide emissions. That's good for everyone. It also means you spend much less on petrol costs.

Those are the three main benefits of a scooter or moped over the alternatives. I think that it is the best option overall. I would suggest you go to your local moped shop or just search online and buy a moped even if just a cheap moped. There are so many makes, models and colours the only down side is you will find it hard to choose what moped to buy. It really is the best option for everyone.

The Benefits of Riding a Scooter in the United Kingdom

Its no small wonder why scooters are so attractive to riders in the U.K. With the credit crunch problems in full force as well as petrol and diesel prices continuing to climb, sales of scooters rose almost 5% in June alone. In fact, the price of petrol is currently up to 117.6 pence, and diesel is up to 130.5 pence. Many people are making the transition from cars to scooters. Having lower insurance and tax rates than cars is another great benefit of riding scooters. We shall now take a more in depth look into more benefits of riding scooters in the United Kingdom.

Using scooters to navigate through towns and cities is a great way to get around in the U.K. If there ever is a problem or traffic jam, you have the ability to weave in and out of traffic to avoid it. Also, scooters are very good economical investments. For example, they are fairly inexpensive to buy, you can more easily find parking, parking is free and in relation to cars, fuel costs are nominal. In fact, a research group performed tests on scooters and their petrol consumption. They drove the largest, most fuel-guzzling scooter with a 125cc size engine for 150 miles per week. They concluded that it would cost you around 420 pounds per year to fuel the scooter. Not to mention the fact that, unlike a car, the scooters environmental impact is minimal. Additionally, bicycles, motorbikes and scooters have been exempted from the congestion charge in London.

Another benefit of riding scooters in the United Kingdom is that it is better than public transportation. Trains, for example, are limited by the fact that not every town or city has a station there. Not to mention what you might have to pay just so you can get to a particular train station. Tickets may be fairly costly, depending on what time of the day it is. Then you must wait and hope it doesn't get cancelled. You must then repeat this same process on your way home. Buses, on the other hand, may be a bit better. The downside of riding buses is that they seem to go slow and stop frequently. And again, just like the trains, you are hoping that every bus shows up on time. Having taken all of this information into account, it seems that riding a scooter would allow you to travel more efficiently while using your own timetable.

Scooters are great for people who want to minimize their environmental footprint. Seeing as how cars have been such a popular form of transportation in the U.K. for so many years, many individuals believe that it is time for them to be more environmentally responsible. As cars have polluted our atmosphere and guzzled our fuel, scooters and mopeds would have the opposite effect. In fact, since scooters are smaller and lighter than cars, they use a very small and insignificant amount of fuel. This means they will also emit far less amounts of carbon dioxide as well. Not to mention your petrol costs will significantly decrease, too.

Purchasing a Gas Scooter Online

Purchasing a motor scooter or gas scooter online is one of the easiest and simplest purchases to make online. Here are some suggestions for ensuring that you receive quality care and the best possible scooter.

Gas scooters are super fun to use and they are extremely affordable on gas. When purchasing a gas scooter online choose a company that offers quality name brand, new scooters vs. used scooters. This online company should also have its own warehouse as this will ensure the quality of your scooter as well as the quick delivery of your scooter.

Take your time to read the online reviews provided by other customers on the website. These reviews provide important information from a customer's point of view. Personal testimonials give a hands-on account of someone else's experience. These accounts can often point you in the direction you need to go or warn you from making a mistake during purchasing.

Another important aspect is to avoid purchasing the least expensive scooter available. It is better to purchase a scooter which has the features that you desire and the quality that you need at a discount price than to just simply purchase the least expensive scooter. Purchasing a gas scooter online offers a greater discount than purchasing from a local dealership. Online gas scooters are often 30% lower than local dealerships. Be sure to find out about the manufacturing standards on a motor scooter before making your purchase.

Determine what you'll be using your scooter for and the speed which you will need to accomplish. A 50cc motor scooter will be limited in its speed capabilities. This type of scooter may be best used on side streets or in a local community. A 150cc motor scooter will be able to reach highway speeds. Be sure to check your state laws however, as some states restrict the use of scooters on highways. Be sure to select your scooter based on your correct height and weight. The engine size will need to be determined based on these factors.

Lastly be sure to find out if there is a warranty available. A warranty will ensure the life expectancy on your gas scooter. Purchasing your gas scooter online is easy. You can select a 50cc, a 150cc, or a 250cc motor scooter. The best way to determine which size will be best for you is to know what you will be using the scooter for and to know which size engine is required in order to carry a person of your height and weight. Your online scooter purchase will be delivered to you quickly and easily and an online purchase can save you 30% or more when compared with the local dealership.

Motor Scooter Reviews

Motor Scooter Reviews - Read This Guide First!

A guide to motor scooter brands, prices and engine size to save you time before you start reading motor scooter reviews.

Motor scooters are a relatively new market in the U.S. and with over 50 brands available it's a good idea to spend some time reading the many online motor scooter reviews before you buy. However, nobody has got time to read through hundreds of reviews in the hope of finding the best quality, performance and price. This general motor scooter review will help you by explaining a little about which countries produce the best scooters.

For example, it's no good going to the motor scooter reviews looking for an American brand, because there are very few scooters made in the U.S. Almost all scooters are imported from Italy, Korea, Japan, Taiwan and China. When you talk to a dealer he'll always tell you what country the scooter comes from, but how will you know which country makes the best scooters?

Well most motor scooter reviews agree that Italy and Japan produce high quality scooters. Scooters from Korea and Taiwan are usually judged to be in the middle range and Chinese scooters are amongst the cheapest, but with a mixture of good and bad brands. So if you decide to buy a Chinese brand because you have a small budget, this is where motor scooter reviews will really help you to find a decent model.

Amongst the Italian brand names, Aprilia, Piaggio and Vespa are the ones that get the best motor scooter reviews for quality and reliability, but they are also the highest priced. And the well-known Suzuki, Yamaha and Honda brands are also reckoned to be high quality but expensive. Yamaha mopeds and Honda mopeds are also know as gas motorized scooters.

You can also buy a good quality scooter from little-known brands like Hyosung, Genuine, SYM or Kymco; they are a bit cheaper than the famous brands and are nearly as good. Your choice of brand may be restricted to what's available in your local dealership and if you read some motor scooter reviews before you talk to a dealer, it will help you with your final decision.

If you're looking for the best you can get at the cheapest price, have a look at the online stores. Their prices for decent brands are a lot cheaper than dealers because they have low overheads. Names like: Wildfire, Roketa, BMS, RoadRunner and Tank are discussed in plenty of motor scooter reviews and can be shipped right to your door. The drawback is that the guarantee on these scooters only covers parts.

Discount scooter brands like the Chinese: Schwinn, Lance, TNG and Flyscooters are not available online and you can only buy these from a dealer. But you should know that decent online brands are up to 500 dollars cheaper than these.

It's also possible to buy discount gas powered motorized scooters as second-hand deals and Vespa scooters for sale as used, are also available in some dealerships. Look out for the Yamaha Razz scooter, the Yamaha Zuma scooter and Cushman motor scooters which I can personally recommend as good gas motorized scooters.

Before you start consulting the reviews you need to decide what engine size is right for you. If you'll mostly be on roads with a 40 mph limit, a 50cc engine will do the job with a top speed of about 35mph - 40mph. They are pretty economical with a gas mileage of up to 100 mpg. Cheap mopeds are great for short neighborhood trips.

A 150cc engine will give you a top speed of 50mph - 60 mph and this is powerful enough to use on a highway occasionally and give a mileage of about 70 mpg. If you need a scooter to use regularly on the highways, a 250cc engine is the best choice. It has a top speed of 75 mph and a gas mileage of about 60 mpg.

I hope that by reading through this basic guide you've saved yourself some time and now have a better idea of what brands and engine size you need to read about in the motor scooter reviews.

Electric Scooters- Love at First Spin

As people start driving electric scooters, they find more and more reasons to like them. They're practical, easy to park and get great gas mileage. With gasoline price raising day by day, the popularity of playful, fuel-efficient electric scooters has soared. According to industry experts, last years sales have doubled compared to a year ago, and only in 2005 more than 300,000 electric scooters were sold.

The hard-core scooter enthusiast enjoys the feel of scooting which many people compare to skating on land. For those who live downtown, scooters make the everyday commute fun and easy, and most models are compact enough to be taken onto public transport and then stored under a desk for the rest of the working day - and you can recharge the battery. Electric and motor scooters allow you to save money on gas - even Vespa, the grand dame of scooters, easily sips one gallon of gas during 50 miles of city ride.

Some people turn to scooters after losing their driving privileges; some find the scooter more romantic than bike and enjoy so-called scooter dates. Many people in the Far East switched to electric scooters for the fear of SARS, and this summer many scooter enthusiasts proudly looked up at their fellow city dwellers, as they were suffocating in jammed streetcars and buses.

No matter why people choose motor and electric scooters today, the thriving sales have resulted in many new models with exiting features and design.

One of the most popular scooter models is the eGO-2 Cycle, which combines the best features of a bike and an electric scooter. eGO can be used as a bicycle but has all the equipment of a scooter, including headlights, turn signals, brakes and throttle. With aluminum silver-plated chassis, this work of art can easily make up to 25mph climbing hill - and weighing less than 120 lbs! The eGO retails for around $1400 depending on a retailer.

Another two-wheeled whiz kid on the block is a Xootr, a cross between a skateboard and an electric scooter. Although Xootr can take you around at the speed of 10 km it has neither suspension nor real brakes but with its extremely light-weight, these disadvantages are easy to live with. And when the batteries run low, you can still propel it with kicking.

Speaking of scooters, it's impossible to miss out the famous Vespa. These two-wheeled wonders of Italian design have enchanted Europeans since the end of 1940s, when designers Corradino D'Ascanio and Enrico Piaggio created an affordable two-wheeled vehicle for the masses. And Hollywood loves Vespa too, putting Audrey Hepburn in Roman Holiday and Nicole Kidman in The Interpreter on equally stylish Vespas.

Indeed, women comprise more than 60 per cent of all scooter owners. And with affordable prices - most scooters range from $800 to a $1000, while bigger and faster scooters can cost as much as $10,000 - scooters have quickly carved out their niche on today's city road.

Motor Scooter - Style of Scooters

Motor Scooter - Style of Scooters

A motor scooter can be divided into four types of models: Sport, Classic, Maxi, or Vintage. Whatever style and/or model you choose is dependent upon your needs and lifestyle choice.

Sport
The sport style of motor scooters began in the early 1980 when Yamaha and Honda designed a motor scooter with sharper lines and fiberglass moldings.
in early 1990 the scooter manufacturer's attempted to emulate the "Crotch Rocket." Now nearly every motor scooter manufacturer offers a "Sport" model of scooter.

Classic

As the name implies, the classic motor scooter is what is traditionally thought of as being a motor scooter. Think of the Vespa that Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck rode in the 1950 movie classic Roman Holiday. The classic scooter is characterized by having a scooped front leg, shield with a round light on top, rear fenders that are rounded and a single cylinder engine. The retro model of motor scooters can be found in nearly all modern scooters.

Maximum

The maximum or maxi scooter is a scooter in name only. These motor scooters are built for performance and can reach speeds of over 100 mph. An example, of a classic model would be the Suzuki Bergman or the Honda Silverwing.

Vintage

As the name implies, the vintage style of motor scooters are classic scooters. They are typically more than 15 years old. Examples of this classic style would be the Cushman of the 1950s and Vespa of 1960. In 1960, Harley Davidson even manufactured a motor scooter. A vintage scooter though is not for the novice as a vintage scooter may have it's share of maintenance problems. However, for absolute style points a vintage scooter can not be beat.

Buying That Perfect Motorcycle Jacket

A motorcycle jacket has long been a fashion statement for those who wish to look cool in public. And there are a lot of people in that category. The primary reason for wearing one would be either to look 'cool', 'stylish' or 'in'. It adds an additional touch of masculinity and 'machoness'. But still, at the end of the day, the majority of us don't know where, and how to buy a jacket we'll like ourselves and be comfortable in.

There are some very simple things to keep in mind when attempting to buy a jacket you'll enjoy not only showing off to your friends, but wearing. Here they are:

1. With clothes, the very first thing that strikes you is the color. They can either be outrageous, soothing, traditional, or just plain loud. It's the same with motorcycle jackets. Men have very few colors to choose from, but with women, it's different. But whatever gender you may be, always choose a color that looks good on you. Be happy yourself with what you choose.

That is what style is all about. You own unique taste can make you look really cool, if you're personally content with it. Its all in the mind, fashion is. Never mind what the magazines say: if you like your jacket, you'll show it. It will be evident by the way you talk, walk and present yourselves. On the other hand, if you don't think the jacket suits you very well, in spite of it being a costly one from a renowned company, you won't feel comfortable in it, and similarly the discomfort will manifest itself in your body language and will show. Eventually, what's important and essential is whether you feel stylish wearing the jacket or not. If you do, rest assured you will look cool and stylish.

2. Men generally have a color choice of black, grey, brown, red and bottle green when it comes to buying jackets. Women have many more colors to choose from, and they don't, unlike their male counterparts, necessarily make the wearer more masculine or macho.

Quite on the contrary. But for this very same reason, men defer from experimenting with colors, fearing it'll take away the added bonus of looking macho and overly masculine. This is a wrong notion, and is not always correct. Go ahead and freely choose from the colors available. One of them is bound to suit you, and you shouldn't keep yourself from choosing an unconventional color if you happen to like it.

3. If you are looking for a choice in colors when buying motorcycle jackets, running from store to store searching for that perfect hue, tiring yourself out in the process....this can turn out to be a very big hassle. Enter the internet, helping make your life a little easier. Okay, make that a lot. Using online stores, getting that jacket of your dreams can be really very easy, and you can check out more jackets this way in a very short time.

Also, if you have a color already decided in your head, there are plenty of online sellers ready to help you out, if you tell them exactly what color and sort of jacket you're looking for. It is your responsibility, however, to figure out which of these online sellers really deliver what they promise, and the whole rigmarole of online buying can be a little costlier than what it is generally, but hey, you know you're getting your money's worth, and what can be a more satisfying feeling than that?
